Safety Instructions For Bosch Serie 4 Dishwashers

Disconnect the dishwasher’s power supply before installation. Verify the proper installation of the domestic supply’s protective conductor system. The electrical connection requirements must match the dishwashing rating’s standards.

This appliance’s power cord must be replaced with a specific power chord if it is broken. The power cord can only be purchased via customer service in order to avoid harm. When installing a dishwasher in a high-sided unit, the unit needs to be adequately secured.

Follow the directions for installation in combination with a dishwasher in the installation guide for the specific appliances if the dishwashing machine is installed below or above other household appliances.

Contact the maker of these appliances to confirm that the dishwasher can be installed above or below these appliances if there is no information or if the installation instructions do not contain the necessary information.

Only a technician is authorized to open up and fix the appliance. Disconnect the appliance from the power source to accomplish this. Switch off the fuse or remove the mains plug. Shut off the faucet.

Stop using the appliance if it has damage, particularly to the fascia (cracks, holes, broken buttons), or if the door operation is compromised. Remove the mains plug or turn the fuse off. Stop the faucet and dial customer assistance.

Using the Dishwasher

Open the dishwasher only momentarily to load and unload it in order to avoid accidents, such as falls. The cutlery basket must include knives and other objects with sharp points with the points facing down or horizontally on the knife shelf. Never sit or lean on an open door. For free-standing appliances, make sure the baskets aren’t stuffed too full.

The dishwasher needs soft water, or water with little lime in it, in order to have decent cleaning results; otherwise, white limescale will build up on the dishes and interior container.

Any tap water that contains more than 1.2 mmol/l needs to be softened. The water softening system of the dishwasher uses regeneration salt, a specific salt, to soften the water. The hardness of your tap water affects the setting and hence the amount of salt needed (see table).

Prior to turning on the appliance, always quickly refill with special salt. This makes sure that any excess special salt solution is removed right away and doesn’t corrode the rinse tank.

It is advised to empty the dishwasher from the bottom up to prevent water from pouring onto the utensils in the lower basket from the higher basket. Hot objects are shock-sensitive! So, after the program is through, let the dishes cool in the dishwasher until you can handle them.

Use only the dinnerware and glasses that the manufacturer specifies are dishwasher-safe. Use a detergent that is safe for kitchenware. As soon as possible after the program is finished, remove the glassware and cutlery from the dishwasher.

Pans that are very dirty should go in the bottom basket. Better dishwashing results are produced by a stronger spray jet. Cutlery should always be arranged randomly, points facing down. Place knives and other long, pointed instruments on the knife shelf to avoid injuries.

The etagere and the area below it can be used to place small glasses and cups or used for bigger pieces of silverware, like cutlery or wooden spoons for serving. The Etagere can be collapsed when not in use.

For dishwashers, you can use tablets in addition to powder or liquid detergents, but never washing liquid. Depending on the level of dirt, the dosage can be independently adjusted for both powder and liquid detergents.

The amount of active chemicals in tablets is sufficient for all cleaning operations. Most current, effective detergents use an enzyme-infused, low-alkaline compositio where enzymes digest protein and break down starch. Oxygen-based bleaching chemicals are typically used to remove colored stains (such as tea and ketchup).
